Registration now open for free summer 2019 Advisers’ Workshop

GSPA will collaborate with Mercer University’s Center for Collaborative Journalism to host a FREE workshop for high school media advisers Monday, June 3, through Wednesday, June 5, 2019.

Seasoned media advisers and newbies alike will get to convene with their peers and acquire/refresh practical, teachable skills at this intensive two-days, two-nights retreat in Macon. You’ll set your own agenda for conversation topics with your peers using the “unconference” model, and faculty and staff at Mercer University’s Center for Collaborative Journalism will offer hands-on sessions on various media production skills: photo/video, data reporting, social media and more.

Mercer is hosting and providing instruction for free, and will pay for breakfast and lunch. Attendees are expected to pay for travel and lodging themselves, but Mercer can cover lodging expenses for a finite number of advisers who need help. There will be a group rate on a campus hotel; details coming soon. Sessions will take place in Mercer's CCJ building, 1675 Montpelier Ave, Macon.
