Students and advisers: Call for presenters at Winter Conference

GSPA invites advisers and student staff members from all publication and production types who are interested in presenting at the 2022 Winter Conference Thursday, Feb. 10, at the University of Georgia’s Tate Student Center to submit their ideas for consideration.

Students from South Forsyth High School present during the 2019 GSPA Fall Conference in Athens, Georgia.

The theme of the conference is “Back Together,” a celebration of returning to in-person programming. The idea was suggested by GSPA Ambassador Anna Rachwalski of Midtown High School. Sessions are designed around six skills-based tracks. They include Design, General (Nuts & Bolts), Leadership, Multimedia, Photojournalism and Writing. (Don't feel boxed in by these categories; there is a lot of room for creativity!) Attendees will be representing broadcasts, creative/literary magazines, news magazines, newspapers, news websites and yearbooks. Sessions last 45 minutes.

The conference is an excellent platform for students to share their knowledge and best practices with their peers while gaining valuable public speaking experience.
