Meet our new GSPA graduate assistant!

Introducing Julianne Bernstein

Hi, everyone! My name is Julianne (Juli) Bernstein and I am the new graduate assistant for GSPA for the 2021-2022 school year. I am so excited to get to know everyone and begin my work with GSPA!

I wanted to give everyone a little information about me, as I am new to this position and I am very eager to meet all of you! I am originally from North Potomac, Maryland, an area outside of DC. Four years ago, I decided to attend the University of Georgia, and in May, I graduated with degrees in Public Relations and International Affairs. However, I knew that my time at the University of Georgia wasn’t over yet, so I decided to pursue my Master’s degree. Unlike previous graduate assistants, I am not pursuing an MA in Journalism. Instead, I am earning a degree in Emerging Media, which includes web design and development, user experience and interaction, and lots more!

In addition to being a graduate assistant, I am a barista at a local Starbucks and a TA for our Intro to New Media class here at UGA. In my free time, I enjoy playing with my two cats, Dansby and Jackal, shopping, finding new Switch games to play, and hanging out with friends and family.

In just a few months I’ve been here, I have already seen how amazing GSPA is and have loved getting to meet with students and advisers at school events. It is truly something I think we all missed amid the pandemic, and I am glad that we are finally able to resume in-person visits. I am truly so excited to meet and get to know everyone and I am always around to chat! Just drop me a line at jsb63625[@]uga[dot]edu!
