GSPA will celebrate the best in scholastic journalism across the state during a virtual awards ceremony on Thursday, April 30, at 4 p.m. The presentation will be in the form of a YouTube video and will be shared on social media and on GSPA’s website.

The Spring Broadcast, Newspaper, Newsmagazine & News Website General Excellence and Individual Award contest winners will be announced. We also will recognize recipients of awards administered throughout the year, including the 2019 Summer Yearbook and Literary Magazine contest winners, Georgia Champion & Jr. Champion Journalists, First Amendment Essay finalists, Achievement Award winners.

With Georgia K-12 and university closures, we are unable to order and mail physical awards at this time. Plaques, framed certificates and printed certificates will be made and mailed at the beginning of the new school year in August.

In the interim, advisers will receive certificate files for winners via email that can be downloaded and printed. We also will share social media graphics that can be displayed on your publication’s accounts and/or personal accounts.
